National Blood Shortage Working Group
The Canadian Blood Services and Provincial/Territorial Representatives discussed the need for a national plan to manage blood shortages. The National Advisory Committee on Blood and Blood Products (NAC) was subsequently asked to develop a national plan for management of blood shortages. This plan would provide recommendations for the distribution and utilization management of blood products in times of significant blood shortages.
