NAC Blood Shortage Working Group
The Canadian Blood Services and Provincial/Territorial Representatives discussed the need for a national plan to manage blood shortages. The National Advisory Committee on Blood and Blood Products (NAC) was subsequently asked to develop a national plan for management of blood shortages. This plan would provide recommendations for the distribution and utilization management of blood products in times of significant blood shortages.
The NAC Blood Shortage Working Group (BSWG) maintains the Plan on behalf of NAC.
